19th c. Leather Sewing Tool Roll-Up Envelope
Very interesting leather sewing roll-up envelope. Probably for double pointed knitting needles, or for holding skeins of embroidery thread.
The interior is lined with turquoise blue rayon taffeta, stitched in panels to hold contents.
8.5" x 2.5"
Leather surface has surface wear, mottling, and "wrinkles". Binding trim is intact but has darkening to ground. Yellowing and staining to silk interior lining. Original stitching has pulled away from backing in several areas. No repairs or alterations.
