English Gilt Metal Figural Donkey Sewing Tool Holder
Charming English late 19th c. novelty donkey with panniers sewing tool holder. A unique piece with very detailed face, neck, and ears. Fine twisted wire lead thru mouth and around neck.
This is a gilded two-piece cast metal donkey with attached panniers. Although the figure is hollow, the castings are thick and make this a substantial piece. Panniers hold three remaining micro crochet hooks. Each one has a screw neck, so there must have been an interchangeable handle at some point. It is mounted on a marble base.

Gentle wear appropriate to age. No splits, repairs, damage, or alterations.Missing 3 tools, handle, and scissors. Some tarnish to metal base of figure.Bottom paper is scuffed.
