Charming hand painted black ash lidded sewing basket with double upright handles.
One of a kind treasure from the last quarter of the 19th c.

CONDITION:
4 places where there is small weave loss.
Only 1 original wicker loop holding handle,
all others were replaced long ago with silk ties.
Lid fits very tightly in top, so its best left resting on top.
Painting is fairly bright around base, but more faded on top.
Overall basket form has slight but very mild distortion.
