Dutch silver belt hook embossed with seated figure of Neptune, god of the sea, riding his chariot led by a pair of horses. Beneath them, two dolphins jump thru the scrolls. Cast in the lost wax method, this is a substantial and extremely detailed piece of silver work. This is a very weighty piece. Circa: 1772-1796.

N date letter: 1772 & 1796
Crown: .833 silver
DV (or IV)
"Amsterdam, 2nd standard or ‘kleine keur’ matches the year 1772 & 1796. Maker’s mark is questionable but perhaps DV, for Willem de Vries, registered in Amsterdam during 1750-1795.
Or possibly IV (malformed) for Jan Vaelhout, registered 1730-1786."

Antieke zilveren gordelhaak. Antieke Nederlandse zilveren riem haak reliëf met zittende figuur van Neptunus, god van de zee, het rijden zijn strijdwagen geleid door een paar paarden. Onder hen, twee dolfijnen springen via de rollen. Gegoten in de verloren was methode, is dit een aanzienlijke en uiterst gedetailleerd stuk zilver werk. Dit is een zeer gewichtig stuk. Circa: 1772-1796.
