Silk on linen family record sampler worked by Rosetta Stoddard at the school of Edee Pease, in Chesterville, ME. Worked in cross, queen, and straight stitches.


Rosetta was one of three children born to Rev. Jeremiah Stoddard and his wife, Mary Ann Smith. She married Charles B. Rose of Livermore, ME, and had two sons, Edward and Charles. She died at the age of 98 in New Cambria, KS, in her son's home.


Edith "Edee" Raymond Pease, Rosetta's teacher, was the youngest daughter of Abishai Pease and Mary Abigail Raymond, born in Chesterville, ME, on 4 Mar 1804. She married Benjamin Berry in 1832 but divorced him in Mar 1869. She died in Fall River, MA, on 25 Mar 1891.
