REBEKAH GRITMAN, Onondaga, NY, 1809
Rebekah Gritman's small marking sampler was done in silk on a linen ground in a deep indigo colored thread. The sampler is from the Onondaga County region of New York. Rebekah was possibly from Lysander. Born about 1840, an 1850 Census shows a 10 year old "Rebecca Gritman" living with siblings and possibly her remarried mother and her stepfather.
