Asseneth William and her twin brother Seth, were the youngest of 5 children born to Seth and Abigail Williams, in the village of Poquetanuck, Preston Town, New London, CT. Asseneth married Isaac Wheeler Geer on 9 Jan 1825, and resided at the home his father David Geer built in Poquetanuck, Preston, New London, CT. Asseneth died several months after the birth of her first child, Asseneth Williams Geer.
Isaac Wheeler Geer thenmarried Experience Avery shortly after, and they resided at his home in Poquetanuck. He served in the militia and rose to the rank of lieutenant-colonel. "He had more ambition to succeed in personal business affairs than in public life, but was honored by several town and society offices, and was a much respected and useful citizen in his neighborhood and town. He was passionately fond of music, and was one of the old-fashioned singing masters, teaching the art of singing at Meeting House Hill, Ledyard, at Preston Plains, and in Poquetanuck. He was for twenty-five years chorister in St. James Church, in Poquetanuck."
