Embroidered PIN KEEP England, 1800
Charming and endearing early 19th c. pin keep with gilded metal bodkin. Each side worked in silk on linen, the central image is of a squirrel grasping a nut. The reverse side features a floral display with foliage. Straight pins radiate around the edge, and it is suspended from a double-hole decorated gilded metal bodkin. This miniature is a one-of-a-kind treasure.
