Elaborately turned, carved, pierced and incised cylindrical ivory sewing clamp and needle case. Intricately cut-out fret work of foliage and ribbed bands beneath pincushion cup. Rim of cup is decorated with black and red madras work. Unthreads to reveal interior compartment. Original silk ground to pin cushion. Ebony core spindle in center. Table clamp with carved rib decoration, includes shield shaped thumbscrew.

CONDITION:
Overall very good. Loss to ribbed band pierce work on one side. Loss of color to madras work. One rib "tooth" missing on top rim of clamp portion. Threads are fully intact to needle case cup, but not easy to work.
