RARE hand carved and hand painted wood folk art doll figure with butter churning stick. Arms are whirly-gig style with wire jointed stick. Head and body are one carved piece. Carved nose, with painted eyes, cheeks, lips, and hair. Very unusual form, I've only seen one other done in this style. A treasured part of Glee's collection for 50+ years.
Here is later example of this style of Grödnertal carved figure. It is the only one I have found with this type of silhouette. ERZGEBIRGE Farmer's Wife

Wear appropriate to age and material. Chip to top of bonnet. Paint loss to top of head. Possibly missing an additional piece to her back, where hole is. Missing milk barrel.
