"Simon Bros. Company: Thimble Makers" Philadelphia invoice dated 8/26/1913, sold to James D. Leys in Butte, MT. Two 10K thimbles wholesale cost $6.50 back in the day.
John C. Meyer, in a letter to the Farr Alpaca Co, is dismayed that the company had decided to purchase spun silk from England, rather than domestically. So distraught is Mr. Meyer, that he suggests he might pursue importing too, if the quality and cost of their product can not match the English goods.
