Brass mat protector with oval opening in ornate gilded gesso frame.
This wonderful image of Miss Warren shows her surrounded by her 17 students (partial list on back). From my research of several of the more uncommon names, it is likely that this image was from a Springfield, Hampden, MA school. Several of the names are listed in the region for that time period.
Note on reverse:
"With this you see / Remember me. / M. A. Williams
