19th c. Silver Hedgehog Novelty Pin Cushion

Beautifully crafted with great detail. Filled with what appears to be straw covered in mohair for sticking the pins into. Although there are no hallmarks, what makes this piece so unique is the hand formed silver base. I have not seen another hedgehog pincushion with a custom hand chased stand. Filigree ornament is soldered in each corner with hollow beads supporting the base. This hedgehog is an ORIGINAL, not one of the later replicas.
