Late 18th c. Embroidered Silk Sewing Roll-Up Huswif
Late 18th c. Embroidered Silk Sewing Roll-Up Huswif. Wonderful hand sewn silk sewing roll, hand embroidered in shades of teal blue silk on a natural color silk ground. Over the the length of the roll, a single meandering floral vine worked in chain and satin stitches, with inscription "NM / Collin Port 1790" at the top. Reverse contains one pocket at the bottom and four open-ended tubes.

Foxing,stains, and discoloration to natural ground. Ground loss along top with hole left of flower. Paper residue on reverse along bottom pocket.
