Late 19th c. embroidered wool work floral wreath of lilies, foxglove, sunflowers, and assorted other flowers. Berlin wool work embroidery done in 14 st./in scale.
Original gilt period frame with label for John Wanamaker - Fine Art Pictures and Framing - Philadelphia, the historic department store located at 1300 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA.
Acquired in the mid 1970s.
Can be hung vertically or horizontally.

CONDITION:
GOOD, with wear appropriate to age and material. Some mild stitch loss. Wool ground has a few small pin holes and loss to wool pile. Gilded frame has overall surface wear, with small loss to gesso on one corner. Backing paper is torn, but label remains intact.
