19th c. Victorian Hair Wreath
Victorians were inspired to create memorial tributes from the hair of their deceased loved ones. This circular bouquet is an intricate assemblage of individual flowers, using a range of coiled and braided techniques, constructed over a wire supporting frame. The different hair colors suggest contributions from several individuals, possibly from one family.
