A precious sampler worked by Betsy Hine, age 13, in 1799. She certainly loved birds. There are seven feathered friends in this Connecticut sampler. Uppercase and lowercase alphabet with numbers 1-18. Stylized floral outer border worked in chain stitch. Bottom panel with floral bouquet and birds eating grapes.
