Ink alphabet drawing by Hannah Z. Clark, 1797. "Remember the giver"


Barely visible carefully ruled grid lines allow for the rendering the alphabet. This style of alphabet, used inteaching the marking of linen, are from The Instructor, or Young Man's Best Companion, by George Fisher, London 1785


Attributed to Hannah Clark, born July 6, 1790, to Abraham and Mary Clark, in Wrightstown, Bucks County, PA. The Clarks were Pre-Hicksite members of the Wrightstown Friends Meetinghouse.
