Early 19th silk embroidered card case with silk interior. 


A wonderful example of an early 19th c. silk embroidered card case worked entirely in pulled Algerian eyelet stitches. Four thread colors create an resonating geometric pattern. The silk interior has two separate compartments lined with pale robin's egg blue, and finished with a sand-colored silk binding.
