Antique 19th c. Silk Log Cabin Quilt Fragment New England Primitive Folk Art Decor
This jewel colored log cabin quilt fragment was created using 3/4” logs of various shades and colors of silk sateen and silk jacquard. The chimneys are all fuschia silk. This vibrant quilt sample is striking in its color selection and use of jacquards with solids. Backed with a tightly woven cotton muslin. The blocks are 4.75" square. Lovely fragment of a show quilt, showcasing a woman's quilting skills rather than for utilitarian use. Will look gorgeous framed.
