Cut and carved wood spool holder with printed floral pinstripe covered pincushion on top, above two turned discs of birdseye maple with 16 pins for spools.
Jonathan Mabbett, son of Joseph Mabbett, Jr., and Sarah Baron, was born at Nine Partners, NY, in 1762. The land belonging to his father and uncle Samuel was the site upon which the original Nine Partners Meeting House was built.
Jonathan was a Quaker preacher and a strong business man. He was a successful grain merchant in Troy, NY.
